On behalf of the officers and members, it is an honor and a pleasure as President of the Charlottesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to welcome you to our website. The Charlottesville Alumnae Chapter (CAC) was chartered on June 9, 1969, and for over 50 years, we have been a pillar of strength and compassion in our community rendering countless hours of service, awarding scholarships, and remaining socially active.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of our community partners. Collectively, we work together to develop and implement programs that benefit the Counties of Albemarle, Nelson, Fluvanna, and Louisa, and Cities of Charlottesville, Waynesboro, and Harrisonburg. Dr. Lora Henderson Smith
Our own CAC member has been recognized by her Alma Mater as a 2025 Clark Atlanta University 40 under 40 awardee. This prestigious honor recognizes alumni who are under the age of 40 and who are contributing to advancement in a variety of areas. As a selected alumni she has made significant contributions to her field of expertise as an Assistant Clinical Psychology Professor in the UVA School of Education. She is an influencer and professional shaping the culture on mental health, leading in her community in promoting equity for indigenous youth in education, and is paving the way for what comes next for the voices of youth and families. She exemplifies our sisterhood with excellence, resilience and dedication. Let’s celebrate her for this great achievement!
